Inside Scooter / Power Wheelchair lift

An electric wheelchair lift and electric scooter lift is available in both platform and rotary models. Platform lifts are operated automatically while rotary lifts (also called swing lifts) move the wheelchair or scooter by swinging the platform inside or outside of the van, as well as moving it up and down. These lifts are not available in a manual version.

Outside Scooter / Power Wheelchair Lift

Outside scooter / electric wheelchair lifts, also called hitch mounted lifts, are excellent for mounting a scooter or power wheelchair securely to the exterior of a vehicle,. They are very easy to operate, save you valuable storage room inside your vehicle and are available in manual or electric models.

Depending on the lift, special docking devices may be required to place mobility devices in your vehicle. Also, when purchasing a vertical wheelchair lift, be sure to note the exact make, model, and year of the vehicle you plan to install the lift on. Depending on what vehicle you drive, some lifts may not fit. If you're shopping for an external lift, your vehicle will need to have a Class I, Class II or Class III trailer hitch installed. The exact hitch required will depend on the weight capacity you'll need. In general, the combined weight of your lift and wheelchair or scooter should be at least ten percent less than the hitch capacity.
