Lift Chairs

Liftchairs

Lift chairs are highly beneficial for several kinds of people. Lift-chairs are designed with a mid-wheel, thereby offering optimal balance for great stability. Aged people no longer have to worry about unstable chairs. Additionally, these liftchairs offer them great comfort whenever they wish to lean back and read a book, watch TV, or relax. Lift chairs are also very useful for women who have just given birth to a baby and lack the strength to sit on a regular chair. People who are undergoing therapy also benefit from the comfort and convenience offered by lift chairs. Since lift chairs are designed aesthetically, they blend in beautifully with the ambience and can be placed anywhere in your house. For men and women whose working habits can take a heavy toll on the back, lift chairs offer the comfort and support for their back, thereby reducing the risk of back problems.

Types of Lift Chairs
There are three basic types of lift chairs – two position, three position and infinite position.

Two position lift chairs, as the name suggests, offer two-position adjustments. These chairs have a semi-reclined and a lifted position, in addition to the standard seated position. Two position chairs are the most commonly used and come in a wide variety of colors, designs and fabric. These chairs are also inexpensive.

Three position lift chairs have a semi-reclined position, a lifted position and a napping position, in addition to the seated position. Electric recliners are basically designed as three-position lift chairs. These chairs come in different price ranges, styles, features and comfort options.

Infinite position lift chairs offer infinite recline positions. You can push the chair to any reclined position depending on the comfort level that you seek. These chairs can also be pushed back to a position where the feet are at a higher level than the heart. Infinite position lift chairs make use of dual motors for separate controls for the footrest and the back. You can use the chairs for sleeping as well. There are several models that offer a ‘mattress’ option for ultimate comfort.

In addition to the three basic categories, lift chairs can also be classified as heavy or light duty chairs. Typically, heavy duty chairs support weights above 600 pounds, while the rest support 300-400 pounds.
